Just want to give a big shout out to Tully, Yaseen and Niki. These 3 wonderful young people always gave us service with a smile when we went to breakfast and made us feel special. Their customer service was consistently 5 stars even when they were crazy busy. Breakfast was always a busy time but they made sure we were happy and had everything we needed. Good customer service is hard to come by these days, that’s why I wanted to say a huge thank you to the three of them. Keep up the great work Tully, Yaseen and Niki, what you do is very much appreciated and doesn’t go unnoticed. Intercontinental Edinburgh is very lucky to have you on their team . Thank you for making our stay and breakfasts a very happy and memorable one 🏴xo

Wonderful hotel. Excellent service from the staff. They were able to get us into the hotel early, which was nice since we just flew in. They include breakfast and the breakfast is excellent. Make sure to get to full Scottish breakfast! The location is pretty nice since it is central to most places. 10 min walk to Edinburgh castle. A lot of good food options as well. Highly recommend this spot.

We had a nice stay here in Edinburgh! Breakfast was included and very good. Service was great. Hotel was absolutely beautiful and in a great location for walking the city. We booked a basic room knowing we wouldn’t spend much time inside and it was very nice- just what we needed. Very clean. Coffee, tea, fresh water, snacks routinely replaced and always had the beds turned back at night for us. Very detailed and thoughtful- remembered my husbands birthday and sent desserts to the room. We got room service twice- maybe my only complaint was the food wasn’t as excellent. The toasties we ordered arrived very cold- the onion toastie was almost frozen or refrigerated which was disappointing being as tired and hungry as we were. The chicken tikka was okay, the chili was okay. Given this was late at night and the menu is limited- our fault for waiting. I would recommend if you’re having room service I would try something not on the late night menu as they seem to be microwave type convenience quality meals. If you’re out pub hopping you’re probably better off grabbing something tasty on your way in. We noticed food places and shops close a bit earlier than expected. Overall I enjoyed our stay at this hotel and would recommend to anyone in the area. Again- breakfast was delicious and a huge selection!

Lovely hotel right in the heart of Edinburgh. The location is just perfect; almost everything is a walkable distance away! We were even able to come back in the middle of the day to drop things off, since the location was so central to everything. The staff was lovely; very friendly and helpful at all times. The decor of the lobby is charming, with chandeliers and velvet chairs. The room itself was great; nice and spacious. The bed was large and comfortable. The bathroom was spacious, but the shower doesn't really have a door, just a pane of glass which was maybe a little too small, because you had to be careful of how you positioned the shower head to not get the floor all wet. The breakfast option was very convenient. The selection of items was large, and everything was delicious. Some items that stood out were the smoked mackerel and the black pudding. Everything was fresh and plentiful; granted, we went there pretty early in the day, about 7-8 am. The only downside about this hotel is that the carpeting needs a little love; the carpet of the hallways and in the room looks like it needs a good, deep cleaning.

Don’t be fooled by the nice lobby. This hotel really should be re-branded as a Holiday Inn because it is in no sense a luxury hotel. The rooms are small, dark, and drab, with uncomfortable furniture, very cheap gray carpet and very dated decor that reminds me most of a Holiday Inn I stayed in in 1998. The rooms are also noisy—I was woken up several times by people in the halls. The bathroom, while updated, is too small to be practical, with no room to put toiletries. The lobby is beautiful, the location is great, and the service was solid— but it doesn’t make up for the low quality of the rooms. It hurts the Intercontinental brand for this very dated property to be branded as luxury when it is not.
