I'm here right now, stopping over before a training course tomorrow. Great location for my course and really nice hotel. At first I didn't think the room had a kettle but it's hidden in a compartment in the wall behind the bed. I will defo us this place again the next time I'm up here.

UPDATE: I have re-rated it 1 star because the customer service is awful. I stand on the hotel itself being nice and the rooms needing modernisation but staying here for more than a night exposed some unfortunate things. The cleaners don’t actually clean the rooms, they made up a bed that had stains on the sheets? And left what was clearly rubbish in the room? Towels were not replaced, just left lying around (not even folded and put back into the bathroom). For lunch the food was awful, the server was picking her teeth with her fingers right before serving us so safe to say my appetite was completely cut. Either way the carbonara was stale to say the least. The hotel had ran out of toothpaste apparently and it is in a business park so no shops nearby, they didn’t seem to think a 4* star hotel should provide such to their customers. When bringing this up to the manager, we got a combative attitude. We ordered food for delivery since the restaurant food was not satisfactory and they refused to deliver it to the room, when asking to speak to the manager, reception hung up on us. We called back and eventually they did deliver with lots of attitude and no word even spoken to us. We tried to check out a day early so that we could go somewhere else for the final unused night but the manager dismissed us and declined a refund since we had paid for the full stay upfront (judge and jury, since the manager is clearly the problem, corroborated by other reviews on here). Safe to say we won’t be coming here again, we were on a business trip and staying here was purely out of convenience as it is pretty much the only place in the area and last time we had stayed for 1 night it was okay (we rated it 3* originally). Unfortunately, we got to see its true colours this time. ORIGINAL: Nice hotel, could do with modernisation in the rooms (no plug sockets near the bed), bathroom a little outdated and no toothbrushing kits/other toiletries aside from basic shampoo/shower gel. Other than that, service is great, food is nice and flavourful (both breakfast and lunch). Would recommend in the Ashfield district area.
