About Venue
The Bloomsbury is a 5-star luxury hotel on Great Russell Street in the heart of London's West End, owned and managed by The Doyle Collection, and one of central London's most architecturally remarkable event venues.
Housed in a Grade II-listed Edwin Lutyens neo-Georgian building, the hotel carries a genuine sense of history and grandeur that sets it apart from most event venues in the city. Its meeting and event spaces are among the most distinctive in London, ranging from a 266sqm ballroom with show-stopping tropical wallpaper inspired by King George V's travels to a book-lined library named after Nobel Laureate Seamus Heaney, a soaring vaulted Chapel, and an outdoor terraced garden restaurant beloved for its afternoon tea. The hotel's bars and restaurants, including Dalloway Terrace, The Coral Room, and the intimate Bloomsbury Club Bar, are each available for private hire and carry the same depth of character.
With 13 event spaces in total, The Bloomsbury can scale from a boardroom meeting for 20 to a gala reception for 320 guests. Each space comes with air conditioning, WiFi, and state-of-the-art AV equipment, and the in-house events team handles everything from bespoke catering and menu design to full event planning and production. All menus are built around seasonal, locally sourced produce, catered by the same team behind the celebrated Dalloway Terrace restaurant.
The hotel is two minutes' walk from Tottenham Court Road tube station, with excellent connections across London and to King's Cross St Pancras for Eurostar arrivals. The British Museum is directly opposite. Bloomsbury Square car park is close by. The hotel is fully accessible.
About this space:
The Seamus Heaney Library is an intimate, book-lined private hire room on the first floor of The Bloomsbury on Great Russell Street, with capacity for up to 40 guests for a drinks reception or theatre session, or 18 for a boardroom meeting.
Named after the late Nobel Laureate poet, this 61sqm room is one of the most atmospheric meeting spaces in London. Floor-to-ceiling bookshelves, warm lighting, and a distinctly literary character give it a quiet, focused feel that works beautifully for team meetings, creative workshops, training sessions, and strategy days, as well as private dinners for smaller groups. Natural light comes in from the first floor windows, AV equipment is available throughout, and the room is air-conditioned. It sits on the same floor as The Chapel and both can be used together when a combined first-floor hire is needed. The in-house catering team can provide anything from a working lunch through to a full seated dinner.
