Edinburgh is a city with a variety of attractions. But it is best known for its history. It's the capital of Scotland, and it played a major role in history from Roman times onward. The city is full of monuments to its long past: imposing buildings, churches and cathedrals, old castles, museums (notably the Scottish National Gallery), parks, gardens, pubs, art galleries. You could spend your whole life in Edinburgh without seeing everything there was to see; you would never run out of things to see or do.

Why team away days make a difference

The idea behind a team away day is to give people in the team an opportunity to talk together about what they do and get out of their usual work roles. Usually, this means giving them a chance to discuss problems they might not otherwise have talked about, being out of the office, and just generally having fun together.

We think it’s a good idea to organise team away days regularly, about two to three times a year. It keeps the team happy and encourages a steady flow of new ideas, which is what you need if you want to keep your business growing.

You can combine this with your summer party or Christmas party but it’s also a good idea to keep them separate, focusing more on teamwork and innovation than a party on your team away day. Just make sure you plan for getting together regularly and at least a few times a year partly focus on creative brainstorming and bonding.

2. No.32 – located in the heart of Edinburgh, this venue is great for large groups and has some fantastic rooms available for breakout sessions. It's a hotel so you can have the team stay overnight even if you're coming from outside of Edinburgh. We love the personal approach from the events team and all the extra touches that they bring to each event.

3. Season Quayside – this venue is perfect if you're looking for something a bit different. Located in Leith, it's a beautiful modern venue with panoramic views over the water. It's on the edge of town but well worth the journey!
